Brenner, Inc. in Winter Park, Fla. Brenner reached out to Rick Gonzalez, CCIM, of Crosby & Associates, Inc. in Tavares, Fla., to help find the perfect location for a new Veteran's Administration Outpatient Clinic. "Keep in mind, the U.S. Government works according to appropriation cycles and the money that was allotted for the VA Clinic in NE Lake County had to be committed or it would be lost," Gonzalez says. Having another knowledgeable CCIM involved helped to smooth the process. Brenner and Gonzalez tirelessly worked with the VA and property owners for two years to get the deal done. e new $2.9 million, 9,986-sf facility opened its doors earlier this year, three years aer the initial site visit. "It was particularly rewarding when some of our local veterans thanked us for making it easier for them to get great health care closer to home," Gonzalez says. Brenner and Gonzalez are both heavily involved with Central Florida Veterans. Mark H. Mizell, CCIM, of Birchin Lane Realty Advisors LLC in Isle of Palms, S.C., teamed with Josh S. Lieberman, CCIM, of Sunoco LP in Frisco, Texas, to work together in the more than $2.7 million portfolio sale of land in North Charleston, S.C., for Sunoco LP. e assemblage of the nine separate parcels and sub- sequent zoning changes required expert level commercial real estate knowl- edge and patience. "Josh's experience from working in markets throughout the country coupled with my local insight got the deals through zoning and across the finish line," Mizell says. "Knowing you are working with a fellow CCIM typically gets negotiations off on the right foot as there is a mutual respect and comradery among CCIMs." Send a CIRE Gift Subscription Member rate is $25 U S , $35 International To order, call 800 621 7027, ext 4482 Submit transactions to dealmakers@ccim com or fax to (312) 321-4483 Include a digital color head shot if available
