44 July | August | 2015 Commercial Investment Real Estate INTERNATIO NAL BE AT Colorado-based Vail Resorts purchased the 3,000-acre Perisher Ski Resort in New South Wales, Austra- lia, for $136 million from Murray Publishers and Transf eld Corporate, according to a company press release. Perisher is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and is the most visited ski resort in the country. T e property, centrally located among some of Australia's largest cities, represents Vail's f rst international acquisition. Rob Katz, chairman and CEO of Vail Resorts, announced plans to grant Perisher season-pass holders the opportunity for unlimited skiing at the company's U.S. resorts. "T is acquisition is part of Vail Resorts' continued strategy to drive season-pass sales and build loyalty with guests from around the world," Katz said. Cross-Border Intentions Investors from all sections of the globe are anticipating increased cross-border transactions in 2015, according to CBRE's Global Investor Intention Survey. This continues last year's trend of a 40 percent increase in cross-border capital fl ows, compared with a 19 percent growth in the overall market. Where will investors be looking?
