2 July | August | 2015 Commercial Investment Real Estate D E S K PRE SID E NT ' S t Partnership Perks T e CCIM Institute constantly seeks to improve the value of your membership. Strategic alliances and strengthening the CCIM brand are two ways the Institute boosts the return on your investment. To promote the CCIM brand at ICSC RECon in Las Vegas, May 18–20, the new CCIM exhibit booth rose like a regal ship's prow above other exhibits. T e CCIM booth drew almost 1,000 CCIMs and visitors and 176 table reservations from CCIMs. One of our recent alliances is with the Asian Real Estate Associa- tion of America, with several prominent CCIMs among its members. At AREAA's 2015 Global & Luxury Summit in Chicago, it was appar- ent that international commercial investment in the United States is accelerating, especially from wealthy Asian investors. Many of them are seeking credentialed professionals such as CCIMs who they can trust and have the knowl- edge and connections to structure deals competently. For the sixth year in a row, CCIM and the American Real Estate Society met to share best practices and ideas in the real estate academic world. T is collaboration provides the CCIM curriculum with current academic research and strengthens our ties to universities with real estate programs. Another strategic partnership is celebrating its f rst anniversary. ALM Real Estate Media Group — publishers of Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com, as well as organizers of RealShare conferences — is show- ing great success in leveraging the expertise of CCIM designees. Initi- ated by CCIM President-elect Steve Moreira, CCIM, and Past President Wayne D'Amico, CCIM, the ALM partnership is successfully promot- ing the CCIM designation in many local markets and nationally. CCIM is also partnering with ALM for our annual conference, CCIM T rive, Oct. 27–28, at the Hyatt Regency Austin in Austin, Texas. ALM will use its high-prof le connections and media reach to assist the Institute with programming and promotion. Providing resources to help members become more successful is our No. 1 priority. Take advantage of these strategic alliances, and capitalize on the CCIM brand by wearing your CCIM pin.
